List Of Questions About Roof Restoration

If you’re wondering about the different benefits and drawbacks of a roof restoration, you’re not alone. You’d be 100% correct in assuming that roof restoration can be confusing and difficult to understand. When all things are balanced out, we believe that a good quality restoration trumps repairs and replacement on their own. But what about other questions about roof restoration you may have? See below our list of common questions about roof restoration.

What’s Included In Roof Restoration?

This is by far the most common question we get on a day to day basis. For us here at Fussy Roof Restorations, we approach our quotes with a holistic attitude. That means firstly checking over the roof for any leaks, damage or other issues. Things like ridge capping that needs repointing, broken tiles and gutters that are rusted. All of these items and many others will be photographed, itemised and quoted on as part of the quote.

But now we get to the main items, the roof paint! Every quote that we provide covers these three main coats – 1 x coat of roof protect primer, 2 x coats of roof protect membrane and lastly, 1 x optional clear glaze coat. When combined, these three different coats allow us to offer an industry topping 15 year warranty.

A good quote will be specific about repairs, it will include what type of paint, how many coats and a comprehensive written description of all the necessary works to be carried out.

How much does roof restoration cost?

Pricing for a roof restoration depends on a number of different factors:

The square meterage (SQM) of the roof to be repaired and painted.
What type of repairs need to be carried out i.e does the ridge capping need to be repointed? If not, then the price would be lower.
Do you want the optional 4 x coat system, or just the 3 x coat system? There is a cost saving from one to the other.
How steep is the roof pitch? How high is the roof? These are big factors in the difficulty of the job. The higher up, the slower the job is.

So as you can see there’s plenty of factors to take into account. But generally speaking – and this is general – A roof restoration will cost you somewhere between $2500 – $5,000. Think about it this way. A decent roof repair will be somewhere around $1500. A full roof replacement on the other hand can run you $30,000 – $50,000! So simply getting the roof restored is a much more cost effective solution that will make your roof look brand new.
